Todd Crawford and Mister Nicadual Finish in Open Derby Top Ten!

The Open Derby Finals of the 2006 NRHA Derby are over now, with Todd on Mister Nicadual (Mister Dual Pep) owned by Jerry Kimmel, finishing in 6th Place and the TOP TEN. Todd set the pace in the 1st Go-Round finishing in First Place with a Score of 225! All in all a great showing for both Rider and Horse!

Todd Crawford and Mister Nicadual Raise the Bar!

The first section of the first go round of the 2006 NRHA Derby began on Wednesday morning at the Oklahoma State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. Todd Crawford set a blistering pace in the $80,000 added Open Division on Mister Nicadual (Mister Dual Pep) owned by Jerry Kimmel. CrawfordÕs typically exciting, deep sliding ride earned the high score of 225.

Todd Wins NRCHA Stallion Stakes on Im Smartly Colored!

       Todd Crawford & Im Smartly Colored, by Paint stallion Color Me Smart and out of Martina Cee Ñ Below Right; captured the Open Stakes Championship with a 656-point composite. The pair won the herd work with a 222.5; marked a 217.5 in the rein work and a 216 down the fence to win the title by a half point.
       "I got off to a good start in the cutting. That horse is a real big stopping horse and he stopped well and turned well in the reining,"   Todd said of Im Smartly Colored.  "The fence work, I kind of muffed it a little bit. The cows were tough to read and tough to get set up going down around the corner."
       Billy Rank Cogdell of Tulia, Texas, owns Im Smartly Colored. The Cogdell family is legendary in the cutting horse industry and Im Smarty Colored's dam, Martina Cee, is a full sister to 2000 National Cutting Horse Association Horse of the Year Shania Cee. Shania Cee has earned more than $400,000 in the cutting arena including championships at both the NCHA Futurity and Stakes.
        Rank Cogdell sent Im Smartly Colored to Todd in December of his 2-year-old year and Todd showed him at the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity last fall. "We missed the Finals by a point or half point," Todd recalled. "I drew a tough cow down the fence and didn’t advance so he’s making up for it now."

       Todd also finished 5th on Shiners Quixote, owned by Carol Rose & Paris Wixon.
